Happy New Year - Yikes! Where did January go!

I guess time does fly when you are having fun! We've been busy getting ready for new classes, clubs, block of the month programs and more.

All of our busy lil bees (sales associates, friends and family) have been buzzing away making samples that we are kitting up - ready for you to get started on your new quilt projects. The kits are so popular that we are selling them as we are making the samples. We will get them on our online catalog page within the next couple days.

Come by and and see what's new and meet our staff.

Betty (relative) is producing thread catchers right and left -- she can hardly keep up as everyone loves what she turns out. However, she has informed us that she is ready to get back to sewing quilts - she was on a hiatus due to breast cancer and cancer treatments but she says the "chemo fog" she was in has lifted and she is ready to "cut & sew".

Roni (long time friend)just finished a quilt using blues and golds stonehenge and has made 2 more of the carpenter star quilts for us.

The other Cindy (another long time buddy) is sewing up the sample for the Civil War Journals Block of the Month.

Tootsie is back - she sewed up a precious baby quilt and is working on a batting buddy quilt - you've got to see this one.

Kathie stayed on since the September 2011 shop hop -- she just completed a pretty tedious checkerboard border table topper for your kitchen nook table. The main fabric is a fun fruit and veggies print.

I'm happy to say that Wanda is still hanging with us but has been out for a while and should be back on the saddle working on a western quilt soon. Wanda is our Accucut pro when it comes to making our Oma & Opa quilt kits.

Judy just moved to Fredericksburg and we grabbed her before anyone else did. She jumped right in and sewed up a beautiful sweet floral throw.

Lastly, we took on a sweet lil highschool teenager,Sarah. Sarah is the next generation of crafters, sewers & quilters. Oh yeah, her mom bakes delicious muffins. Right now Sarah is getting our fat quarters organized but it won't be long before she, too, will be making samples.

Sarah's mom is a Hospice nurse and was telling us that the Hospice patients really loved the fun pillowcases we donated a while back - so it looks as though Pocketful of Poseys will start that project again and Sarah will get some sewing time making pillowcases for the shop to give to Hospice.

Deb is also back and is leading our Jo Morton club and making some great samples of the monthly projects.

TJ is running our 1st Thursday club, which is turning out to be a lot of fun. The 1st Thursday group has been meeting for a number of years - they seem to really enjoy being together and sharing their ideas & projects.

I'm back with the 1st Friday evening "sit and sew or do whatever you want to" group. We get a lot of handwork done in this nighttime event as well as sewing on quilts or just plain relaxing with the group.

Just a hint of classes to come (please note that the teachers are offering lots of Saturday classes for those of you who are unable to attend during the week): TJ will be teaching the iron caddy this Saturday, Feb 4 & her Dresden Star technique class on Thursday, Feb 9.

Harriet will teach her purse accessories class on Monday, Feb 20.

On Saturday & Sunday, March 3 and 4 will be a couple of classes on the Curved Ruler taught by Elaine Muzichuk, who is a certified Creative Curves teacher.

On Saturday, March 10, MaryAnn Hildebrand is offering her beginning Machine Quilting Class.

Marilyn Lampman has a beginning quilting class going and is starting a new one begining on Tuesday, March 27. This is a 6 session class and will run every other Tuesday.

We are excited that Kate Hunter is lining up some classes with us. One of her many talents is making doll clothes for the 18" dolls. Kate will give a lecture on Saturday, March 31 explaining some fast and simple methods of construction.

Kate will also teach a great paper piecing class on Saturday, April 7. Kate is so efficient she has already prepared a fun Christmas stocking class for Saturday, September 29.

I am sure there is more information for us to share with you, but I'd better get busy and get these classes on the online class schedule. The class schedule calendar should be up & running within the next couple days.

If I left anything out of this lengthly newsletter, I'll add it to the website.
